Pool cleaning and maintenance! Learn about the methods and ways to clean our pools!

Swimming is a type of sport that can benefit all age groups, especially children. It is an activity that can combine sport with entertainment and of course education. Swimming also helps a lot in exercising the whole body, as it requires the muscles to coordinate at the same time, which contributes to the proper physical development of children.

However, we must not forget that certain specific hygiene and water purification conditions need to be strictly observed, so that there is no reason for concern!

At the Pisces Swimming Group, we consider the hygienic conditions of our swimming pools and consequently the cleaning of the water to be very important, which is why we have taken our measures by implementing thorough checks and drastic methods of cleaning the swimming pools.

The methods we use to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of our swimming pools are combinations of chemical treatment methods.

The best combination is ozone, chlorine and UV rays. This combination is considered the best choice for swimming pools used by our infants and pregnant women. In the Arogi pool we have the combination of ozone and chlorine, while in the Kalamaria pool, ozone, chlorine and UV rays. And because you may wonder why we use the combination of chemical methods and not use each one separately, we give you the answer. Almost no physical or chemical element is fully sufficient and cannot stand completely alone except for chlorine. Only the combination of two or more alternative methods can meet the antimicrobial needs of a swimming pool.

Learn about the controls we apply to our pools below:

The sampling is carried out at a time when the swimming pool is in operation and preferably during periods of maximum bather load. Also, the sampling is always carried out in a sterile container. It is carried out by diving the open container below the surface of the water and then sealing the container, as well as its immediate transport for analysis.

The microbiological analysis of swimming pool water includes the following:

– the appearance (clarity) of

– the pH

– the concentration of chlorides

– total number of microorganisms per 1 ml of water after 24 hours

at 37 oC (f.t. < 200)

– number of coliform bacteria per 100 ml of water after 24 hours in

37 oC (f.t. < 15)

– number of typical coliform bacteria (E.coli) per 100 ml of water after

24 hours at 37 oC (f.t. 0)

– number of Pseudomonas aeroginosa per 100 ml of water after 24 hours

at 37 oC (f.t. 0)

At the same time, the possible growth of Enterococci is checked, which

referred to in the conclusion.

The PURPOSE of the event - celebration of the National Simultaneous Public Breastfeeding is the DE-SECRETIZATION of PUBLIC breastfeeding and the FAMILIARIZATION of our SOCIETY with the image of the breastfeeding mother.

Events will be held in more than 50 cities in Greece by local volunteer support groups, members of the Panhellenic Network of Breastfeeding and Maternity Support Groups.

The desire of mothers to return to breastfeeding, along with the multitude of difficulties, usually from external factors, that they are called upon to face, gave rise to the need to create local voluntary breastfeeding support groups.
In these groups, mothers help other mothers learn the maternal art of breastfeeding, they are informed, they come into contact, they share their anxieties, concerns and experiences, they support each other, they gain strength and courage...

On the first Sunday of November WE CELEBRATE.

We celebrate because HELP FROM MOTHER TO MOTHER PAYS.

We celebrate because by helping each other, every year MORE AND MORE MOTHERS MANAGE TO BREASTFEED their children and learn ways to overcome difficulties and adversities.

We celebrate because TOGETHER like ONE FIST, WE LEARN and MANAGE to realize the natural and self-evident, without limiting ourselves or censoring ourselves...

We celebrate because MORE and MORE WOMEN ARE BEING INFORMED EARLY! And so it seems that, although for our generation the natural act of breastfeeding is conquered with daily battles, for our children's generation it will be a self-evident process.

Due to the removal of previous generations from the act of breastfeeding and the deprivation, by the new generation, of images of breastfeeding, today's breastfeeding woman is called upon to face, among other things, the prejudice of public breastfeeding...

House confinement during lactation often leads to a brief interruption of breastfeeding and to mothers being distanced from it. Let's not forget that the new generation is a generation with intense professional and social activity. Motherhood and breastfeeding are not and should not be a brake!

The new generation of mothers is called upon to cope with a variety of roles. By breastfeeding, we give our child the natural nourishment, affection and comfort that he or she needs at every moment. By decriminalizing public breastfeeding, the mother does not need to renounce her social life or separate from her child in order to meet all kinds of obligations or participate in personal activities.
With today's event, we bring society into contact with the image of breastfeeding, we show how tender, magical, truly pure a process it is, yet at the same time discreet!!!

With the event of the National Simultaneous Public Breastfeeding, we help mothers to free themselves from any inhibitions, and we invite them to include breastfeeding in their daily lives, in their routine. Achieving this goal will help them to continue breastfeeding, for as long as the mother-child dyad wishes.

With the event of the Panhellenic Simultaneous Public Breastfeeding, we protest for the RIGHT of our children to breastfeed in public. Our children will NEVER breastfeed again in toilets, parking lots, cars, as if it were a shame! Our children have the right to breastfeed WHERE and WHENEVER they ask, in restaurants, in cafes, on benches… FREELY and UNOBSTRUCTED!!

With the event of the National Public Simultaneous Breastfeeding, we want to shout that public breastfeeding for a mother and her child is NOT a show, it is a RIGHT!

The Swimmer's Day!

The Swimmer's Festival for boys and girls aged 5 and up (year of birth 2014) to 9 years old (year of birth in 2010), is coming on October 20th, at the Poseidon swimming pool and the Pisces swim team will be there more dynamically than ever! Our little swimmers will participate in the events, play games and relay races, and will all receive commemorative diplomas!

At the initiative of the Swimming Clubs and Coaches of Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the E.A.K. of Thessaloniki, with the support of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Swimming Day is organized for boys and girls aged 5 to 9 years with the consent of the coaches. The day will be held at the POSEIDONIO swimming pool (50m pool) on Sunday, October 20, 2019. Starting time 10:30 a.m. for ages 8-9 years and starting time 11.30 a.m. for ages 5-6-7 years. The attendance of the swimmers-three must be at least half hour before the start of the games.

PARTICIPATION TERMS 

1. Each swimmer is entitled to participate in 1 event. 
2. Every swimmer aged 5 - 6 - 7 participating in the competition must have their own fins and swimming board. 
3. The series will be held according to age and event and with the consent and proposal of the coach of the club of the participating swimmers-trios.
4. The participation of each swimmer MUST BE MANDATORY ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE HEALTH DECLARATION FROM THE PARENT certifying that there is no health problem and that he/she can participate in the day.
5. The participation cost for each swimmer is €10, which will be deposited with the organizing authority by each club.

Awards: After the end of the activities, all swimmers will be awarded commemorative "PARTICIPATION" diplomas and competition medals.

Register your participation at our secretariats by Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

It would be a good idea to purchase caps and t-shirts from our secretariats - for those of you who have not already done so - for our strong presence, cohesion, homogeneity and above all the unity of our team!

Because it is of great importance that our children come to their first matches feeling comfortable and happy, please discuss with the secretariat about their possible participation.
