Ιχθείς Summer Camp by the Sea 2017

Pisces Summer Camp by the Sea!!!

This year, Pisces, we are bringing Survivor to Epanomi!!!

Tthe most super, summer sports program, is back even more dynamically for children 4 years and older (without parents), ALWAYS with safety, empathy and entertainment as its main features!

In a wonderful beach bar on the Epanomi River – particularly kid-friendly – the Carousel, We will spend the first 2 weeks of July with our kids!

Daily except weekends, the children will be picked up in the morning (without parents), from central points of the city. We will all go together at the sea for play in and out of the water and at noon we will return fed, dry, and full of joy – but a little tired – to the pickup location.

The program starts on Monday, July 3 and is completed on Friday, July 14, while it includes transportation, creative activities - entertainment - exercise, swimming in the sea and food.

It is divided into 2 periods of one week:

FIRST PERIOD:

3/7/17 – 7/7/17

SECOND PERIOD:

10/7/17 – 14/7/17

*SPACE IS LIMITED

The program is aimed at children aged 4 to 10. Of course, parents of younger children are welcome to come along with our little fish, at any time and any place they want for coffee, the sea and company!

Detailed information:

PreviousNext

Safety

First of all, you should know that you will be given a responsible statement that will give us permission to travel and have fun with your children, which must be signed by both parents. This statement will also detail any specific health issues of the child (e.g. food allergies, hygiene, etc.)

At the same time, there will be insurance coverage from Ethniki Insurance and a car always on standby, in case of immediate need.

Medical coverage

We always have it with us. first aid kit (fully equipped) on the bus and in the play area.

In collaboration with pediatrician Mrs. Vlaidou Eleni (6980142939) and with an open pharmacy next to the doctor's office, 5 minutes away from Carousel, we will be able to have peace of mind for our little friends.

Finally, you will need to provide us with a medical certificate from a pediatrician stating that the child is healthy and that he is allowed to play sports in the sea.

Escorts

All attendants are lifeguards with first aid certificates and trained by Nikolas Hadjigiakoumis.. The specially designed area with abundant shade – outside the water – for us, is located next to the beach lifeguard tower, while there will be 12 adults – instructors for a maximum of 60 children. (including extra children from the beach – if any). That is, for us it will be 1 adult to 5 children, while the law provides for 1 to 20(!) for sea excursions.

The children will enter the water in sections and here again we will have a specially limited space with routes in the sea and many coaches!

The coaches that will cover the excursion are the following:

Nikolas Hadjigiakoumis, Yannis Mylonas, Yannis Tzioufas, Nikoleta Simopoulou, Yannis Tseflios, Avgi Hourlia, Katerina Paraskevopoulou, Elias Rossiadis, Vassilis Tsiakiris, Voula Tavridou.

Sun

As soon as we arrive, we will go to the shaded area and apply sunscreen, put on our hats and begin the organized or unorganized activities.

Child's bag

They should have 2 changes of underwear, light clothes, (the immortal Greek mother's cardigan), 3 swimsuits (sos), Baby wipes, sunscreen, 2 towels, a cereal bar or rice crackers or some easy snack that doesn't spoil in your bag, if you think the food we offer (see below) won't be enough for your child.

If there is any medication that the child is taking, it would be good for us to know so that we can keep it and hand it to the bus attendant with the child's name on it.

Itinerary

The itinerary and the pick-up and drop-off times for the children will be announced a week before the start of the program and will be adjusted depending on the number of participants. The general idea is that there are 3 or 4 meeting and pick-up points in Thessaloniki. We start at 8:00 or 8:30 from the Thessaloniki KTEL bus station for those from the west (if available), next stop Aristotelous for those from the center, then Krini, Miaouli 18 at our swimming pool for those from the east (and if necessary we will make another stop at Carrefour Macedonia) and off we go to Potamos Epanomis! We return between 2:30 and 3:00 in the afternoon!

*Depending on the participation and needs of the parents, there may be childcare at our swimming pool, Miaouli 18, until 4. In this case, parents should bring aa light lunch, which will be kept in a refrigerator at our place.*

Food

We will provide an individual - child's portion of fruit salad, a fresh natural juice, plenty of water and a cold sandwich at the end before we leave. A responsible declaration will be given with allergies etc. In case you choose to babysit until 4 at our swimming pool, you should bring a light lunch for the child, which will be kept in a refrigerator in our place.

Series of open thematic lectures:

A Journey into the World of Preschool Children

February – June 2017

Standalone Meetings

The family is the first school of emotional and social education that a child is exposed to. Studies in the field of emotional education show that parental behavior has a profound and lasting impact on the psychosocial life of the child, and these effects begin in the cradle.

Goleman 1999

Topics

24/2/2017

The Psychosocial Developmental Stages of Preschool Children.
In this meeting, we will explore the characteristics of the child's physical and psychosocial development. We will discuss what we expect at each developmental stage of the child (e.g. when we expect him/her to eat alone, when he/she is ready to use the toilet, until when we think he/she can sleep in the parents' room), we will ask ourselves about our own attitudes that help or possibly hinder the child's emotional development and we will think about what a child's difficulties in these areas may mean.
The more a parent knows about a child's developmental stages, the better prepared they are to deal with any changes appropriate to the child's age, to avoid unjustified concerns, and to know how to approach the child during this specific time period.

24/3/2017

Boundaries & Discipline: The Most Precious Gift After Your Love.

Why do I have difficulty setting limits for my child?
• Am I doing something wrong?
• Why isn't he listening to me?
• Why do we always have to argue?
• Am I being too strict?
• Am I spoiling him/her?
• What is the correct way to discipline?
The main goal of this talk is to explore the most basic issues we face in setting boundaries with our children and to explore new ways in which we can improve our relationship with each other. Setting boundaries and discipline in children's lives is a difficult issue that concerns many parents. This talk will examine issues such as the causes of disobedience, the effects of punishment, the effectiveness of discipline, the importance of communication, understanding positive feedback and a calm environment in setting boundaries, as well as imitating parental behavior. It will also emphasize the contribution of boundaries to the mental balance of children and the ways for effective boundary setting that lead to self-awareness and self-efficacy.

21/4/2017

The Role of Grandparents in Raising Children: Valuable Help or Cause of Conflict?

The relationship between grandparents and their grandchildren is undoubtedly unique! The role that grandparents have in the family has always been important, but in recent decades, as more and more parents rely on their help to care for their children, this role has gained greater value and attention. For many years, parents had become independent and enjoyed not relying on their parents. Suddenly, however, the presence of children comes and changes the situation, bringing back and making the help of their parents (now grandparents) necessary again!

But what happens when parents complain about the mixed messages their children receive from grandparents? What happens when the increased involvement of grandparents creates complications? How can the parent-child, and grandparent-grandchild relationship be redefined?

12/5/2017

Raising Children Full of Self-Esteem!

How can I encourage my child to cultivate self-esteem and self-confidence? Encouragement is the process by which we focus our attention on the positive aspects of children and help them believe in themselves and their abilities. In this meeting we will explore ways to encourage our children and cultivate self-esteem, and social cooperation.

26/5/2017

“Mom, I'm scared!” – Facing children's fears & phobias.

Fears, small or large, are an integral part of our children's lives. Fear is an emotion that can motivate but also immobilize children in their daily lives and activities. What could be behind these fears? How is a fear "born"? How do we help children deal with it?
In this talk, we will first understand the mechanisms through which we learn to fear, the factors that determine the intensity and quality of children's fears. We will also explore how children manifest their fears and which are the most common depending on age, the situations where fear turns into a phobia and of course the ways in which we can help children effectively manage their fears.

16/6/2017

Preschool Sexuality.

This talk will discuss what sexuality is, at what ages and in what forms it emerges, the feelings it evokes in us, and how we manage situations that arise regarding children's sexuality. Specifically, the following questions will be explored:
What is sexuality?
Is it normal for a child to masturbate?
Until what age is he allowed to see us naked and sleep in our bed?
What happens when he starts exploring other people's bodies?
How should I talk to him about sex? At what age?

30/6/2017

Children facing grief and loss.

How can I talk to my child about a death, a breakup, or an illness?
The experience of death or the loss of a loved one is particularly painful for both the child and the parent. In this talk, we will present the way children understand the concept of death and loss at each developmental stage. We will also discuss how we can support our children in the grieving process, so that they can say goodbye to what they are losing or leaving and integrate the losses into their lives.

Information: To participate in the lecture-seminar, you need to register by sending an email to neosgon@gmail.com by writing the title of the event (e.g. Raising children full of self-esteem) and your details up to 2 days before each speech.

I'm learning to take care of myself, I'm learning to take care of my child.

February 2017- June 2017

The aim of this experiential seminar is to equip parents with the necessary skills to raise their children in a way that will promote a sense of responsibility, autonomy, self-discipline, cooperation, social interest and their usefulness to society as a whole. This is achieved not in an authoritarian or submissive manner, but by cultivating the innate positive elements that each individual has. The parent-child relationship is crucial and these skills help create a meaningful and harmonious relationship.

The success of the experiential psycho-educational seminar is mainly due to the fact that it is not content with just transmitting some theoretical knowledge, but also to lay solid foundations for practical learning, which they will bring immediately, really and recognizable results in the daily problems of the family. To this end, the seminar is experiential and, in addition to short lectures, places special emphasis on practical exercises, role playing, discussions and exchanges of opinions and experiences.n.

The five axes being developed are as follows:

  • How can I help my child solve his problems effectively, without being intrusive?
  • How can I assert my needs when they are hindered by my child's behavior, without risking my relationship with him?
  • How to create a meaningful and harmonious relationship with my child and how to prevent potential conflicts with prevention skills.
  • How to resolve conflicts of needs, when they arise, in an equal and democratic manner so that there are no losers.
  • How to handle value conflicts with respect and sensitivity.

10 MEETINGS

Topics:

February 23, 2017

"The myth of the perfect parent": Exploration of parental roles & standards, recognition of social stereotypes and expectations.
Am I a good parent? What is right? What is wrong? In our first meeting we will focus on how the stereotypes we "carry" about what a parent should be like prevent us from creating an equal relationship with our child.
At the same time, we will discuss and experiment with the various "parenting styles" and their characteristics.

March 2, 2017

Stages of child development.
The needs of our children – Our needs as parents
My child is screaming all day... Is this normal?
In this meeting we will explore the characteristics of the physical and psychosocial development of the child. The goal is to understand the specific needs that emerge at each developmental stage, as well as to experience how different and unique the creature we brought into the world is. We will also begin the journey of getting to know ourselves as parents and as wholes, trying to discover our individual mental and physical needs. Then, we will explore how these needs interact and can move in harmony with the needs of our children.

March 16, 2017

Barriers to Communication.
In what ways can we improve communication within the family?
-What are we doing wrong and not getting along with?
What are the common obstacles to communication in general and to communication with the child in particular? For example, why does the same topic come up again and again even though we have discussed it many times? We will focus on experiential exercises (e.g. role-playing) that will help to gain a deeper understanding of these obstacles and explore available solutions.

March 30, 2017

Communication with the family:
"Are you listening to me? Are you not listening to me?" The importance of active listening and contact with the child and ourselves.
-I'm talking to you, why don't you listen to me, why don't you understand me?
In this meeting we will deal with the qualities that characterize good communication and dialogue with the child.
We will practice the technique of Active Listening as a tool for more effective communication. We will also explore the importance of touch as a basic form of contact with our infants and children.

April 6, 2017

Exploring Patterns in Today's Marital Relationship:
Support & Companionship – Commitment & Autonomy
-Who will take care of the child today? Why me again?
-When will I have some time for myself? For us?
In this meeting, we will leave the children out of the picture for a moment and focus on the quality of the relationship between spouses. We will explore the importance of supporting and being supported by my partner and what needs to change in our relationship with him/her, so that we can both be satisfied parents who experience meaningful encounter and creative coexistence.

April 27, 2017

The Rainbow of Emotions:
Anger, Sadness, Joy, Fear: Strengthening the child's emotional intelligence
-I accept and talk about everything! Both the bad and the good!!
My child is scared, crying, what should I do? I'm scared, crying, what should I tell my child? Is he making me look like this?
Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, and control our own emotions as well as to understand the emotions of others. In this session, we will explore ways we can strengthen our children's emotional intelligence. We will also learn that all our emotions are acceptable and important, as well as how to give our children space to express them.

May 11, 2017

How do we manage the child's aggression or withdrawal?
-Stop getting angry, stop hitting!
Anger is one of the most difficult emotions to handle. What do we do when children get angry and exhibit aggressive behaviors? What do we do when we as parents get angry with them? In this session, we will explore the emotion of anger in depth and try to find more functional ways of expressing and managing anger and aggression in children and parents.

May 25, 2017

What does "I set limits for my child" mean?
-I want to watch TV, play on the internet, eat...I want more...and more...and more...!!
Boundaries in children's behavior are very important for their smooth psychosocial development. But what does boundary mean? Does it mean prohibition or discipline? Or does boundary mean cooperation between parent and child? In this meeting we will discover the valuable value of "boundaries", and we will comment on ways for a bounded relationship between parent and child. Finally, through various experiential techniques we will practice how to set this "boundary in contact".

June 8, 2017

Strengthening children's self-esteem and confidence
-Mom, Dad, I didn't do well at practice today...
-The important thing is that you tried, that's enough!
How can I encourage my child and cultivate their self-esteem and self-confidence? Encouragement is the process by which we focus our attention on the positive aspects of children and help them believe in themselves and their abilities! In this meeting we will explore ways to encourage our children, through experiential exercises.

June 15, 2017

Closing - assimilation of the material
And now that it's over...what's left?
The last meeting will be dedicated to the discussion and practical application of what has been analyzed in the previous meetings. Thus, the participants will bring up for discussion issues that concern them, as well as those that have arisen. Finally, after a brief recap, we will see what the participants gained from the series of meetings and what they would like to explore further.

Gestalt Parent Psychoeducation:

I'm learning to take care of myself, I'm learning to take care of my child.

When a child comes into the world, one of the first feelings we parents report - along with joy, the emotion and the tenderness for this new "our" creature - it is the immense feeling responsibility that we feel towards something that seems so small and sensitive. As parents, we are faced with worries and conflicts every day, about the future of the child and about our relationship itself. In this new role, we begin to learn constantly through our inevitable mistakes and difficulties. Many times we manage quite well, either instinctively or by learning from our experience. In other cases, the initial difficulty remains and repeats itself.

Thus, thinking about the difficulties that parents and families face today, we created a series of psychoeducational seminars for new parents.

There are 2 possible options:

Preschool Parents' School

The Parent School is a sequence of group sessions (a stable group of about 10 parents, every second Thursday of the month) that aims to psychoeducation, the support and the empowerment usMore specifically, it includes a combination of theoretical knowledge and  experiential exercises which lay the foundations of practical learningThis experiential series of seminars is aimed at all of us, parents of preschool children (0-6 years old), who have questions, concerns and concerns about our parental role.

Start: Thursday February 23, 2017.

More

Thematic Speeches

This series of open talks with 7 independent thematic units, takes the form of lectures, on more specialized topics that interest us every time. It is mainly addressed to parents of preschool children (0-6 years old). The aim of the talks is to expand our theoretical knowledge on specific educational issues, regarding the foundation of emotional and social skills within the family, which contribute to its psychosocial and mental development and evolution. Theoretical basis, discussion, and case studies will be our tools!

Start: Friday  February 24, 2017.

More

Children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of life's longing for itself. They come into the world through you but they do not come from you and although they are with you, they do not belong to you. You can give them your love but not your thoughts Because they have their own thoughts.

You can house their body but not their soul. Because their soul lives in the house of tomorrow that you cannot visit even in your dreams. You can strive to be like them but do not try to make them like you.

For life does not go back nor does it dwell in yesterday. You are the bows from which your children are shot like living arrows. The archer sees a target in the line of Infinity and bends you with His power so that His arrows may fly swiftly and reach far.

Accept your bending into His hands with joy. For He, as He loves the arrow that is shot, loves also the bow that is steady.

Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet, ed. Printa

I'm learning to take care of myself, I'm learning to take care of my child!

The child has been whining non-stop for a long time! And yet! He can stop!

Our relationship with our spouse has become very difficult. Who is to blame?

I'm really having a hard time managing my child's anger. Can I help him?

Yesterday he wet his bed again... He's four. Is there a problem?

Do I spend significant time with myself? With my child? With my spouse?

I yelled at him again! Am I going to end up like my parents?

In order to ensure the best possible conduct of the seminars, the number of participants will be limited.
Participation in all seminars is recommended, as it is important to build each time on the knowledge and experiences of the previous meeting.

Unfortunately, our little fish cannot attend, no matter how much we want to! The important knowledge you will receive requires your undivided attention. Thank you for your understanding! After all, all this is done to take care of ourselves and, by extension, our children.

Neurolinguistic Programming Seminar

Neurolinguistic Programming Seminar

Σεμινάριο Νευρογλωσσικού Προγραμματισμού

What exactly is NLP?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the art of understanding the human mind and its functioning.

A thorough study and deciphering of our mental and behavioral structures.

How it started

In the early 1970s, Richard Bandler (mathematician) and John Grinder (linguist) – studied and created the science of NLP through which they explored the relationship between the way we think, communicate, and our behavioral patterns.

What will we learn?

NLP has direct application in personal development, counseling and education.

It is a powerful knowledge tool for parents, educators and teachers, with the ultimate goal of shaping healthy personalities, people full of self-confidence, with an expanded and liberated way of thinking and with the potential to achieve their goals.

Specifically we will learn:

*How to properly communicate what we feel

* How the mind works

* To utilize the way the mind works to achieve what we want

* To observe, describe and capture how a child thinks

* Respect the “ecology” of each child

* Simple NLP techniques and exercises to be used by everyone, even children themselves

* To understand the child's world and mind

* Understand that there is no failure, only information

* Aligning ourselves with children and effectively passing on our positive messages

* Understand how limiting beliefs are recorded and created

* Stop limiting beliefs through our speech

* To inspire them and give them positive stimuli

* Rationalize negative emotions

Ιχθύς Summer Camp 2018

This year, Pisces, we are also swimming in the sea!

Summer Camp Pisces Aqua Club 2016

We are pleased to announce the most super summer sports program, for children 4 years and older (without parents). ALWAYS with safety, awareness and entertainment as the main priorities!

In a wonderful beach bar on the Epanomi River – particularly kid-friendly – the Carousel, We will spend the weekdays of June and July with our kids!

Daily except weekends, the children will be picked up in the morning (without parents), from central points of the city. We will all go together at the sea for play in and out of the water and at noon we will return fed, dry, and full of joy – but a little tired – to the pickup location.

The program starts on Monday, June 20 and is completed on Friday, July 15. It includes transportation, creative activities – entertainment – exercise and food.

It is divided into two periods:

First period: 20/6/16 – 1/7/16

Second period: 4/7/16 – 15/7/16

*Places are Limited.

*The program is aimed at children 4 to 10 years old. Of course, parents of younger children are welcome to come along with our little fish, any time they want and whenever they want for a coffee, the sea and company!

Information

Escorts

All attendants are lifeguards with first aid certificates and trained by Nikolas Hadjigiakoumis.. The landscaped area with abundant shade – outside the water – especially for us, is located next to the beach lifeguard tower, while there will be 12 adults – instructors for a maximum of 60 children (including extra children from the beach – if any). That is, for us it will be 1 adult to 5 children, while the law provides for 1 to 20(!) for sea excursions.

The children will enter the water in sections and here again we will have a specially limited space with routes in the sea and many coaches!

The coaches who will cover the excursions are the following:

Nikolas Hadjigiakoumis, Yannis Mylonas, Yannis Tzioufas, Nikoleta Simopoulou, Yannis Tseflios, Avgi Hourlia, Katerina Paraskevopoulou, Elias Rossiadis, Vasilis Tsakiris, Voula Tavridou, Mohamed Magami and Dora Kalpaki.

Safety

First, you should know how it will be given to you. solemn declaration which will give us permission to travel and have fun with your children, which must be signed by both parents. This statement will also detail any special needs of the child in relation to health issues (e.g. allergies), food hygiene, etc.

At the same time, there will also be insurance coverage from Ethniki Insurance.

Medical coverage

We will always have it with us. first aid kit (fully equipped) on the bus and in the play area.

In collaboration with pediatrician Mrs. Vlaidou Eleni (6980142939) and with an open pharmacy next to the doctor's office, 5 minutes away from Carousel, we will be able to have peace of mind for our little friends.

Child's bag

They should have 2 changes of underwear, light clothes, (the immortal Greek mother's cardigan), 3 swimsuits (sos), 2 towels, Baby wipes, sunscreen and cereal bar or rice crackers or some easy snack that doesn't spoil in your bag, if you think the food we offer (see below) won't be enough for your child.

If there is any medication that the child is taking, it would be good for us to know so that we can keep it and hand it to the bus attendant with the child's name on it.

Sun

As soon as we arrive, we will go to the shaded area and apply sunscreen, put on our hats and begin the organized or unorganized activities.

Itinerary

The itinerary will be announced a few days before the start of the program and will be adjusted depending on the number of participants. The general idea is to have 3 meeting-pickup points. We start from the Thessaloniki KTEL bus station for the westerners, next stop Aristotelous for the centralers, then Krini, Miaouli 18 to our swimming pool for the easterners and off to Potamos Epanomis!

Food

We will provide an individual - child's portion of fruit salad, a fresh natural juice, a water and a cold sandwich at the end before we leave. A responsible declaration with allergies etc. will be given (see above).

Our equipment

Spaghetti, Boards, Body boards, Balls, Rackets, Flippers, Various toys, Buckets, Painting equipment, etc.

Sports include:

Sand gymnastics, beach volleyball, rackets, surfing, beach soccer, buckets, apples, lifeguard exercises in the sea, and much more.

Infant and preschool swimming coaches seminar 2016

The first seminar for infant and preschool swimming coaches, as well as first aid certification for coaches, by the Swimming Teachers Association ( www.sta.co.uk ) and the ANE Association ( www.aquahealthfit.com ), in Northern Greece, ended with great success!

Mixed emotions: Tiredness, joy, anxiety, laughter, friendships, emotion! A three-day trip full of knowledge and experiences!

We warmly thank all the participants (especially the coaches who visited us from all the cities of Northern Greece), for their time, their active presence and of course the trust they showed us. A big thank you, of course, to the babies and the parents who once again stood by our side, for the practical part of the seminar! We hope and wish that we lived up to your expectations!

We wish all participants to use this valuable knowledge wisely! Teaching many children to swim with joy, love and respect!!

See you again!
