Precautionary measures against Covid-19:
Stay calm! NGUE-Northern Greece Underwater Explorers and the Pisces Swimming Team have taken care of taking measures against Covid-19!
More specifically:
- Masks, snorkels, regulators and the BCD oral inflator are thoroughly disinfected (everything that comes into contact with the diver's mouth, nose and eyes)
- Suits, hoods, gloves, boots and BCDs are disinfected and dried in an open area
- the diving tanks and tank filling station (compresser) are disinfected
- the filter of the bottle filling station (compresser) is changed in half the expected time
- the cylinder filling station (compresser) takes air from an open space and not from within the NGUE facilities
- Disinfection is carried out with an appropriate sodium hypochlorite solution, in accordance with current instructions.
- the disinfection solution is environmentally friendly and does not damage diving equipment
- the first and second stage regulators (after completion of the disinfection process) are sealed in sterile disposable bags
- Throughout the sterilization process, NGUE staff wear disposable gloves, which are disposed of appropriately.
Even more important, however, is to know that Swimming pools are the most sterile sports area, due to the presence of chlorine. Indeed, chlorine combined with additional methods of disinfecting our water (ozone and UV), offer the maximum possible safety! According to new research, not only is the virus not transmitted in pool water, but it is neutralized!
Furthermore, our swimming pool in Kalamaria has a sophisticated ventilation system where cooling-heating-dehumidification is applied! To be precise, it is as if we were in an open-air swimming pool since the fresh air is renewed 8 times a day!
