IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Gather around, we'll read a fairy tale...

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful forest where all kinds of creatures of nature lived happily...

But one day, a fire broke out and all the animals gathered to see what they could do...

For a long time they talked and argued...who was to blame, why was all this happening, and other such mental matters, while the fire was still burning... 

But!

While they were talking, a hummingbird, the smallest bird in the forest, was coming and going from the lake to the fire, pouring water little by little with its small beak.

This angered some of those present….

• What are you doing, my little child, in the chaos? Go back and forth, go back and forth, swin swin, in our ears? You've made us dizzy! Do you think you'll change anything with your little beak? roared the lion...
• I do what I have to do... The hummingbird replied calmly and continued... 

• If you think you're too young to bring about change, then try sleeping with a mosquito... and stoically continue its work... 

Many shocking events are happening around us and we cannot stand idly by when our brothers, in the areas that were initially affected by fires and then by the Mediterranean hurricane, are faced with unprecedented survival situations. The great geographical change that the affected areas have undergone will affect all of us… and teaches us that time is precious and immediate action is needed to solve problems… as much as each one can… a little or a lot, simply to act and not to discuss who is to blame, leaving the responsibility to others… If not us, who? And if not now, when?

So we come, and we ask for the participation of all of you, small or large, it doesn't matter, so that we can provide help to those who are in great need at this time. 

The strength is in unity again... and together we will make a difference.

It is therefore very important that we learn to offer our fellow human beings, from the heart, the help they really need... and not the help that is mentally convenient for us, so that we can escape the obligation... 

So the way to help that we discussed with the local volunteers and decided that this makes the most sense, so that useless things don't accumulate, but also really meet their needs and will be useful, is as follows:

We would like you to buy Prepaid Gift Cards/Gift Certificates from the following list of stores in Thessaloniki (which also exist as physical stores in the affected areas and can be used from there) so that until next Thursday evening, to collect them and send them all together by us personally, next Friday to Karditsa and Volos, along with a truck full of water, food and cleaning supplies, a kind donation of Kantza Supermarkets. The deadline for collection at our locations (Kalamaria, Apollo Keep Swimming, National Swimming Pool) is until Thursday 28/09

The gift cards you bring us, along with the gift cards we will offer as the Pisces Swimming Team and the truck with the products of Kantza Supermarkets, will be sent to the volunteer association. “Volos Mutual Aid Group”, who for the past 2 years, completely voluntarily, by sacrificing their personal time, have been helping our fellow human beings in the Volos area.
